Azores Photo Expedition

The Azores is a true gem for nature lovers and adventurers. Often called the "Blue Island" because of its beautiful blue hydrangea flowers, Faial is a mix of green hills and rich culture. The main town, Horta, is famous for its lively marina filled with colorful murals painted by the sailors passing through. This historic town is a perfect starting point for our ocean adventure.

Under the ocean around Faial, there's an amazing underwater world waiting to be explored. The island sits on the Mid-Atlantic Ridge, creating unique underwater landscapes with volcanic formations, caves, and coral gardens. For all of you joining to learn the art of capturing beauty underwater, the Azores are an opportunity waiting to be discovered offering the wildest ocean safaris with a variety of species from dolphins and blue sharks to schools of colorful fish and manta rays. The clear waters offer great visibility, making it ideal for photography.

Our trip to Faial is about more than just taking beautiful photos; it's also about protecting this special marine environment. The Azores are a key area for marine research and conservation. By sharing the stunning underwater scenes of Faial, we hope to inspire others to appreciate and protect the ocean. Each dive reminds us of the ocean’s incredible beauty and the importance of preserving it for the future.

Accommodations and notes

We will stay 10 minutes from the harbor next to the ocean.

My team and I will do our best to curate the best island adventure. The ocean is wild and unpredictable, so keep in mind that conditions like visibility and wind are completely random and wildlife interactions are not guaranteed. With that said we are on an adventure together and we will make the absolute best out of what the ocean and nature offer us.

We will be living island-style for a week and must be comfortable with shared accommodations.
