My name is Chiara and I'm an underwater photographer and director. I make images at the intersection of wildlife, adventure, and art.
From encounters with sharks and pelagic wildlife to carefully directed underwater productions, I like to explore the relationship between people and the ocean, combining years of underwater experience with a cinematic and artistic approach.

Il secondo passo è dare ad ognuno la possibilità di apprezzarne la bellezza, vedere i problemi che minacciano le nostre acque, e riconoscere il potere che abbiamo per migliorare le cose. Un po’ alla volta, insieme possiamo fare la differenza.

My favorite photos usually start with curiosity. A behavior I have never seen before, or that I've seen a million times, an animal I want to understand better, a detail I wasn't expecting, or a story that deserves a little bit more attention.

On my best days you can find me in or around the water. That was the goal when I started my career as a girl from the mountains of Italy with a passport and a dream. Since then the job has taken me around the world photographing everything from sharks, to whales, to people and even mermaids. Lots of mermaids!
I hope my images make you stop for a second, look a little closer, and maybe fall in love with the ocean too.
